Hasdat 50MW/100MWh
Story

The Hasdat BESS project is a utility-scale, stand-alone energy storage facility featuring a 50MW/100MWh configuration. Strategically designed to mirror the technical excellence of the Sibiu site, Hasdat is currently in an advanced Development Phase, with a clear pathway to reaching Ready-to-Build (RTB) status by early Q2 2026. The project represents a significant addition to the regional energy infrastructure, focused on high-performance grid balancing and merchant energy trading.
The project has successfully hit several critical administrative milestones, with the remaining permits currently in progress:
-
Building Permits (Facility): Fully obtained. All necessary local and regional approvals for the construction of the BESS facility are secured.
-
Cable Route Permitting: Currently in the advanced permitting stage. All documentation has been submitted, and final approvals for the building permit of the cable route are expected shortly.
-
Grid Connection (ATR): The Solution Study for the Technical Connection Permit (ATR) is currently being finalized. This study is the final technical hurdle to defining the grid integration parameters.
-
Target Milestone: The project is on track to achieve full RTB status in April/May 2026.
-
Technology: Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
-
Installed Capacity: 50 MW
-
Energy Capacity: 100 MWh (2-hour duration)
-
System Design: High-density, modular containerized solution featuring liquid-cooled thermal management and advanced Fire Suppression Systems (FSS).
-
Grid Interaction: Designed for full compliance with TSO requirements for Ancillary Services, including Frequency Containment Reserve (FCR) and automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve (aFRR).
